Introducing a new generation of luminaires EXTRA - row EXTRA-EX1/21which will gradually replace the design EXTRA-EX-LED. The new luminaire is designed for operation in hazardous areas, specifically for ATEX zone 1/21, and brings technical improvements in certification, durability, light output, control and installation efficiency.

EXTRA-EX1/21 is intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, specifically for ATEX zone 1/21, and brings a set of technical improvements that have a direct impact on lighting design, operational reliability and installation efficiency.

IECEx certification

The new generation EXTRA-EX1/21 extends the certification framework and offers IECEx in addition to ATEX. This combination facilitates the deployment of the luminaire in projects with international overlap where IECEx is required or accepted as standard.

Higher protection: IP66/IP67

The EXTRA-EX1/21 is designed with a higher level of protection against dust and water ingress. The IP66/IP67 rating increases the luminaire's resistance for use in environments with higher humidity, condensation or more demanding maintenance conditions.

Luminous flux up to 12,132 lm

The new generation brings a significant shift in light output. The EXTRA-EX1/21 offers a luminous flux of up to 12,132 lm, expanding the possibilities for lighting design in environments with higher illuminance and visual comfort requirements.

Wider temperature range: -30°C to +55°C

EXTRA-EX1/21 supports a wider ambient temperature range of -30°C to +55°C. This design is intended for stable operation even in more extreme conditions and applies to both standard and emergency variants.

Lighting control: DALI-2

The new generation includes DALI-2 support, which allows the integration of luminaires into lighting control systems, including dimming and more advanced management of operating modes (depending on configuration).

Loop-ready design (LOOP-IN / LOOP-OUT)

The EXTRA-EX1/21 is designed for looping (LOOP-IN / LOOP-OUT). Compared to the previous generation, a 3× pin hole (M20 or M25) is available, which extends the possibilities of connection within line installations and process routes.

New silicone gasket

The new generation uses a silicone seal that is suitable for harsh outdoor and industrial conditions and is resistant to oils, chemicals and long-term environmental exposure.

Extension of the length range: now also L15 (1500 mm)

EXTRA-EX1/21 extends the range of dimensions with a new length variant L15 = 1500 mm. In addition to the existing L06 and L12 lengths, this creates a more flexible portfolio for the design of different types of installations.

LED lifetime

The new generation also sees improvements in durability parameters. The EXTRA-EX1/21 L80B50 achieves up to 82,000 h at TaMax up to 55 °C, which supports long-term stable luminous flux even at higher ambient temperatures.

Series EXTRA-EX-LED remains available until the end of February 2026. Luminaire EXTRA-EX1/21 will in the meantime be gradually introduced as a new standard option within the EXTRA product range for ATEX ZONE 1/21.
